Battery stamina is crucial when you’re travelling and don’t know where the next plug point will be found. The X-type lithium-ion battery in the Sony CyberShot DSC-HX50 is smaller than any of its predecessors, yet delivers 400 photos from a single charge. GPS functionality is offered on the DSC-HX50V with an embedded GPS Log Recording function, enhancing your post-shooting enjoyment as you reflect on your travels. The wide-ranging optical zoom of the Sony HX50V gives users more flexibility to pick their shooting position, while Optical Steady Shot camera-shake compensation gives peace of mind that image quality won’t be compromised. Even at 30x zoom, the CyberShot DSC-HX50 now offers image stabilization that’s twice as effective as the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX50V Camera Charger.

For more advanced photographers who like to fine-tune the details of a shot, there’s a dial to adjust exposure compensation plus a mode dial for other manual shooting settings such as P/A/S/M modes. There’s also a Multi Interface Shoe for attaching a compatible electronic viewfinder, flash, or microphone for better video sound quality - the perfect match with the high quality video shooting of Full HD recording capability. Adding to the package is a Multi Terminal for using a remote controller, very useful for close-ups and movies. With more people shooting video alongside still photos, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX50V Battery Charger delivers stunning results. It captures beautifully smooth Full HD movies that benefit from Optical Steady Shot compensation for reduced camera-shake when you’re videoing on the move. Compatibility with Triluminos Color technology means that footage can be enjoyed with rich, natural colors when viewed on any Triluminos Display TV.
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX50V Camera Features
The 20.2 megapixel Sony DSC-HX50 can capture 10 images per second. There are few compact cameras that can do this faster. The AF system focuses within 0.13 seconds and continuously follows the subject. The camera sometimes has a bit of difficulty with white balance in automatic mode, and photos could be a bit sharper in general, but it is possible to adjust this with the camera. The Sony DSC-HX50’s image quality is excellent. The camera has a so-called Dynamic Range Optimizer that increases the dynamic range and gets more details from the shadows and bright areas of the photo. The DSC-HX50 Sony Camera Battery Charger also has an HDR function, which combines two shots with different exposure and makes a nicely lit photo.
